SCRIPTWORK is a wide field of exercises for groups. Improvisation work, training of perception and presence are deducted by simple means, both interior and exterior. Scriptwork means sketching with the body and is suitable as an introduction to performance work, but as well for the daily training. Scriptwork is made of four consecutive levels. The base of all excercises is the erect posture. Simple and relaxed walking or standing transform into body images and situations that create suitable platforms for individual experience. It is not about learning a technique, but more about overcoming awkwardness, reducing inhibitions, exploring personal borders, being ready for new experience and perception of the body in space and time. What matters most is to understand and to use one’s body as a tool.

Elements in SCRIPTWORK

standing, walking, perception, encounter, concentration, inner compass, copy, glance, gesture, pause, peripheral field of  vision, impulse, attention, general public, precaution, reaction, ascent, dynamics, timing, balance, image, still, repetition, speed, beginning + end, composition of space, abstraction, observation, material/objects, rhythm, theme, musical element, suspense, physical strength, posture, landscape, authenticity, confrontation, action, movement, perseverance, sign, ...
