“Port performance” brought acting arts to the Mud Resort
 

During “In Graafika” festival at week-end the acted art project was presented in old Mud Resort. The project brings together performers from all over Europe.

Artists hid between damp and cold walls of Mud Resort, in bathrooms and procedure rooms. Young performers had taken static poses, leaning on bar counter, sitting on couch and laying on the procedure table. The flower was sawd, artists layed in the sand and on the floor of the pool.

Artists were brought together by organizers of „Port Performance“- Angelika Fojtuch from Poland and BBB Johannes Deimling from Germany.

„Port means „port” in several languages. Port is the place for exchange of people and goods,” explained Johannes Deimling. „Values and cultures from many countries come together in the port. One can meet very different people here. In performance art, port is a symbol of human body which sends its inner values to the outer world and receives outer values. „Port performance”, taking place in port cities, creates a new art environment based on this very idea.”

Angelika Fojtuchi explained that there is art education linked with traveling. Previous „Port Performance” took place in Gdansk. After Tallinn and Pärnu there is plan to go to Tel Aviv, Gdansk again and Belfast. Groups contain mostly art students but also people, who are interested in acted arts.

“Performance-art is an original language, which you don’t have to study at academy,” said Deimling. “We teach people who haven’t got experiences and education. We help them with exercises, finding places and ideas.”

Pärnu „Port Performance” group consisted participants from Estonia, Germany, Finland, Poland, Austria, Czech and UK, few of them made their very first performance.

“Port performance” tõi tegevuskunsti mudaravilasse

Nädalavahetusel tehti “In Graafika” festivali raames tegevuskunsti vanas mudaravilas, esitleti projekti, mis ühendab performance-kunsti huvilisi kõikjalt Euroopast.

Mudaravila külmast rõskete seinte vahel avastas suur hulk pealtvaatajaid ja muidu huvilisi kunagistesse protseduuri- ja vannitubadesse peitunud kunstnikke. Noored tegevuskunstnikud olid tardunud staatilistesse poosidesse baarileti najal, diivanil ja protseduurilaual, külvati jahu, lamati liivas ja tühja basseini põrandal.

Kunstnikud tõid kokku Angelika Fojtuch Poolast ja BBB Johannes Deimling Saksamaalt, kes veavad ettevõtmist “Port performance”.

“Port tähendab mitmes keeles sadamat, kus pidevalt vahetuvad inimesed ja kaup,” rääkis Johannes Deimling. “Sadamasse koonduvad väärtused ja kultuurid paljudest riikidest, siin võib kohata igasuguseid inimesi. Tegevuskunstis sümboliseerib sadam inimkeha, mis saadab oma sisemisi väärtusi välismaailma, ja vastupidi. “Port performance” loob sadamalinnades sellest ideest lähtuvalt uue kunstikeskkonna.”

Angelika Fojtuchi sõnade järgi ühendab kava kunstihariduse reisimisega. Töötoad on toimunud eelmisel aastal Gdanskis, pärast Tallinna ja Pärnut on plaanis külastada Tel Avivi, taas Gdanskit ja Belfasti. Põhiliselt osalevad ettevõtmises kunstitudengid, kuid on neidki, kes lihtsalt tegevuskunsti avastada soovivad.

“Performance-kunst on ainulaadne keel, mida ei pea akadeemias õppima,” arvas Deimling. “Õpetame ka inimesi, kellel puuduvad sellel alal kogemused ja haridus, aitame neid harjutuste, kohtade leidmise ja ideedega.”

Pärnu tegevuses osalesid kunstnikud Eestist, Saksamaalt, Soomest, Poolast, Austriast, Tšehhist ja Inglismaalt, mitu neist astus performance’iga üles esimest korda.
